Gauze- Uh Update

Just to let you all know. The Gaza album will be pushed back a few days and should be available the 3rd or 4th of November. I know you can't wait and you're salivating all over your dirty Chucks. Don't worry it will be here SOON!

Da Boof

Building a vocal booth 101: If you are unable to do this at your house, use all necessary methods of charm to convince a friend to build it at his. Example: Translu drummer Ryan Marks just so happened to have a small add-on room extending from his garage that he used to practice in. Over the last few years it has been somewhat neglected so why not put some good use to it right? Since Translu is working on releasing an EP soon, having a local, free-of-charge vocal recording facility is a benefit and necessity. Ryan agrees so last night Sam and I began the insulation process by encasing whole room with used carpet padding. Cheap and easy is the key here. Soon we'll be swapping out Ryan's hollow door with something solid to further entrap our melodious vocal exploits. Following that we plan to gut the adjacent closet, add a sound proof window and add a workspace area in said closet. Here are some photos of the one and only drunken craftsmen in our first stages of Ryan's drum room/waste of space to vocal booth extravaganza transformation.

The Spoon The Catalyst and The Midwife

Very very interesting night last night. Hip Kitty in Claremont. My brothers the "Golden Boys Quartet." Sean P. Bella Rouge. Sister Rogers. Of course I was there to see Golden Boys and Sean (I wasn't aware of the other bands that were playing) but I ended up running into a lot of people I haven't seen in awhile. Music was amazing. Little biased towards Golden Boys since they're my brothers but nonetheless everyone was great. Had a string of insightful conversations with the father of two of the Golden's (my surrogate father as well). He spoke passionately about allowing creative forces to BE and flow through us. About aiming high and spreading the love of your creative and positive impulses to all. He spoke of himself as "the spoon" that exist to stir the pot of the various creative entities he has been blessed to know. I get excited whenever I notice someone noticing what I'm noticing. Things are changing and the collective awareness of the undefinable changes are unifying. I personally don't wish to contrive a change. Just want to BE in it. As a catalyst. A midwife.

Tee Dogs

Let me start this off by letting you know that Trader Joe's has $2.99 six packs. They may not be your favorite brand of piss water but seriously; $3 six packs are amazing. Anyhoo, golf kicks ass. Actually riding around in carts in lush green grass drinking beer kicks ass. Kevin from Golden Boys works at the Rancho Verde Golf Course in Rialto and was kind enough to let his degenerate friends put his job on the line for a couple of hours of golf hooliganism. Even Pablo from Grimey Dynasty showed face to play a few holes. Thanks again Kev. Here are some photos of Steven and I out on the course doing our retiree impressions. Check out Steven's killer hat.

After the beer is gone

Hey fazzies. It looks like the GAZA album "Dada Flannél" will be out around late October. We may need to throw a album release/Halloween party. Hmmm. Oh and Translu is taking a break from playing shows to concentrate on recording and drinking and smoking dope. I also met up with Markus from Cromwell today to discuss the Party War website and how we can make most bitchinest website ever. Should be amazing. If you're so inclined, please check out dawnoftheweb.net and you can check out some of Markus's work. Very good stuff. Also, you can download some Son Of Cecil and GAZA tracks at sickoftheradio.com/beta. This is another cool site showcasing a lot of not so well known but incredibly talented artist. Okay, I got some recording to do. Adios.

This Gaza album is taking me much longer than expected but it should come out a lot better than what we were planning to drop month's ago. Let's give it a month to release huh? Sound good? Ok.

Don't forget, The Son Of Cecil EP "A Princess In A World Of Dragons" is available. There's that link right over there to the right------> or go to partywarrecords.com and it's in the KITCHEN.

Here's some more videos to keep the hamster wheel spinning.

CancerMagazine Interview

About a month ago, my good friend Steven Higgins and I decided it would be a stupendous (no one uses the word stupendous anymore) idea to drink a 30 year old bottle of Courvoisier as Steven asked me insightful and provocative questions. You know, the tough questions that respondents usually bob and weave around so as not to defame their "reputation." I'm not much of a dodger. I took each question head on like unprotected sex. But, awkward simile's aside, here's the video clip of Cancer Magazine's first interview with none other than yours truly.

It's here man, IT'S HERE!!!!

The Son Of Cecil EP "A Princess In A World Of Dragons" is available now. Check out some of the songs at myspace.com/cecilsson.

This project is particularly special to me due to the fact that it's pretty much the first legit project I've completed. Also given what I had to work with, equipment and experience wise, I am very happy with how it came out. I want to thank the following people for helping me with this project or supporting me in making it:

Sean Peterson- I love you dude. Everything was produced at your house and you supported me the whole time. Thanks for your patience and encouragement. Alpha Beta Male is coming soon.

Rob and Steph- Always down to encourage me and keep me motivated. Rob we've been making music together for a long time and you always pushed and trusted me in whatever bizarre realm I've wanted to go. Steph, you're like my bratty little sister who is always on my ass but extremely supportive and helpful. Thanks to you both for being a part of this project.

The Martin Family- It all started with you guys. Rochelle, I'm not sure if I would even be doing Son Of Cecil without you. Remember the first shitty tape I gave you in 2002. You're encouragement is what fueled this drive to keep on creating. Thank you so much. Kevin and Tony, you truly are my brothers. Kevin, how many songs did I write in your room? Big Tony and Becky, thank you for provided me with copious amounts of love and the assurance that I'll always have a couch to crash on (even if I come in at 5:00 am). Thanks mom and dad.

Jackie- You're voice is golden. Like it or not, I'll be working with you again.

Matt Von- I almost recorded this shit in the storage unit. I would have been happy to do so. thanks again for always pulling strings for me.

Sam and Ang- Sam, you're monitors are still here an intact. I can't thank you enough for letting come through and playback tracks. Some of those first ones were really rough. Ang, thank you for trusting a burnout with your house when I need to work on some songs. You guys are the best. Congrats with Jackson Rocket.

Lou, Juice, and Sean P.- You guys have been an awesome source of inspiration since Ten Year Gap. Once again, people like you are what keep me going. Thanks for all you help and support.

My Autogolpe nigs- Break-ups to make-ups. Let's get this shit going. I love you fuckers and I'm jealous of your talent.

To anyone I pilfered equipment from (Shane,Josh).- I owe you guys dearly. Josh, you gave me the guitar I still play today. My gratitude is too deep to explain. Shane, you're my fuckin hero. Plain and simple. I love you guys.

Steven Higgins- Fuck you. I hate you. Just kidding. Let's slow dance.

And to everyone else who has given me an encouraging word or pat on the back attached to a "good shit," you may never know how much it means to me.

Ok guys, I'll talk to you all soon (even if it's a drunk rant early in the morning).

Uncle Love

Why do people post such improbable sexual request on Craigslist? My buddy Tim is searching through these random entries. It's goddamn hilarious. I mean, I was aware that dudes would post pictures of their dicks and whatnot in hopes of finding that perfect slut just so eager to ride their phallus simply because they took a picture of their erection and adhered it to the cyber swap meet. However, I was not aware that for many people attempting to get their jollies off, sending out Hail Mary's to random people they've encountered seems worthy of their time and effort no matter how improbable the chance of a response. Here are some good ones:

"Well hear that mothaf@#ka is!"- P.E.A.C.E.

Just another grain of sand on bloggers beach. Let's keep this simple. Random thoughts are what we are here for. Spill some dreams to us. Reveal some hidden gems to us. Let us befriend you and nurture your trust. We are worthy. Lay it on the line as a sacrifice to faith in the human impetus towards goodness. Let's have a beer.
